Founded in 1920, Conservas Pinhais is still family-owned and sells only the highest quality Portuguese sardines. While others gave in to the lure of mechanization, Pinhais remained faithful to traditional production methods and still does everything by hand at their small cannery in Matosinhos. Packed with extra virgin olive oil, cucumber, piri-piri, carrot, laurel, clove, and black pepper, these spicy sardines make for an easy lunch alongside toasted bread and a simple salad.
