Gentile Casarecce Pasta is an artisan Italian pasta made by Pastificio Gentile, one of the historic pasta producers from Gragnano, Italy, a town famous worldwide for pasta production. Founded in 1876, Pastificio Gentile continues to use traditional pasta-making methods, carefully selecting high-quality Italian durum wheat and producing pasta with slow drying techniques to preserve flavor and texture.
This pasta is made using Italian durum wheat semolina, including the renowned Senatore Cappelli wheat, an ancient Italian grain known for its flavor and quality. The pasta is bronze-cut, which gives it a rough, porous surface that allows sauces to cling better, and it is slow dried at low temperatures using the traditional “Cirillo” method to preserve aroma, texture, and nutritional qualities.
Pastificio Gentile pasta carries the PGI (IGP – Protected Geographical Indication) certification, meaning it is officially recognized as authentic pasta from the Gragnano region and produced according to traditional methods.
Casarecce is a traditional pasta shape from Sicily, consisting of short twisted pasta that holds sauces very well inside its curves.
This pasta pairs especially well with:
• Tomato sauces
• Pesto
• Meat sauces
• Sausage sauces
• Ricotta sauces
• Eggplant and tomato
• Vegetable sauces
• Seafood sauces
• Olive oil and parmesan
Artisan, bronze-cut, slow-dried, and made with high-quality Italian wheat, Gentile Casarecce is a traditional Italian pasta from Gragnano known for its texture, quality, and ability to hold sauces beautifully.
