Gentile Rigatoni is authentic Pasta di Gragnano IGP in one of Italy’s most satisfying sauce-catching shapes. The name comes from rigato, meaning “ridged,” describing the grooves running along each broad tube. Those ridges hold sauce on the exterior while the generous hollow center captures meat, vegetables, and cheese. Produced by Pastificio Gentile in Gragnano, Campania, where the company’s roots date to 1876, the pasta reflects the town’s historic craftsmanship through bronze-die shaping and Gentile’s traditional Metodo Cirillo drying process. Its IGP designation protects the connection between the pasta and its celebrated place of production. Rigatoni are ideal for Neapolitan ragù, sausage and tomato, mushrooms, eggplant, tomato and ricotta, or rich cheese sauces. Their sturdy structure also performs beautifully when baked with tomato, mozzarella, and Parmigiano Reggiano.
