Gentile Le Ruote is a playful organic wheel-shaped pasta from Pastificio Gentile, the historic Gragnano pasta maker whose roots date to 1876. Ruote means “wheels” in Italian, and each piece features a circular rim and tiny spokes that make the pasta fun to eat while also creating numerous surfaces for sauce to cling to. Part of Gentile’s child-friendly pasta collection, Le Ruote is made with organic Senatore Cappelli durum wheat and crafted using bronze dies and the producer’s traditional Metodo Cirillo, a gentle drying method rooted in Gragnano’s pasta heritage. Serve these little wheels with simple tomato sauce, pesto, peas, finely chopped vegetables, butter and Parmigiano Reggiano, or a mild cheese sauce. Their compact shape also works beautifully in vegetable soups and pasta salads.
