This chocolate dressed like a candy was born between the 19th and the 20th Century and it is now part of the collective imagination of Piedmontese capital inhabitants. The legend tells the CRI-CRI denomination was born thanks to a love story between Paolo and Cristina. The guy before meeting his love always stopped in a patisserie shop to buy some anonymous chocolates. The salesgirl who knew both always asked to Paolo: “Cri?”. He with a loving smile answered “Cri!”. The owner of the shop, seeing every day this scene decided to name these chocolate pralines coated with small sugar balls and chocolate with a roasted hazelnut core CRI-CRI.
The rainbow version of this chocolate praline is even more extravagant: the classic white small sugar balls are now coloured.
