Frantoio Muraglia Medium Fruity Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced in Andria, in the Puglia region of Southern Italy, by the Muraglia family, who have been producing olive oil for five generations. The Muraglia estate focuses on preserving the biodiversity of the Apulian agricultural landscape and protecting ancient olive trees, some of which are hundreds of years old. The oldest Coratina olive tree on their estate is estimated to be over 450 years old and produced olives for their very first pressing.

This olive oil is made primarily from Coratina olives, a variety native to Puglia known for producing olive oils rich in polyphenols, which contribute to both the flavor and the health benefits of extra virgin olive oil. Coratina olive oils are known for their herbaceous aromas, structured flavor, balanced bitterness, and peppery finish.

Following traditional methods, the olives are harvested by hand and crushed using a stone mill, then cold extracted to preserve the oil’s natural aromas, flavor, and nutritional properties. The olive oil is packaged in Muraglia’s signature hand-painted ceramic bottles, created by local artisans in Puglia. Ceramic bottles protect olive oil from light exposure and help preserve freshness and quality.

This is a medium fruity olive oil, meaning it has a balanced flavor profile — not too delicate and not too intense — making it very versatile for both cooking and finishing dishes.
